Cover Judge (yes, I've officially changed the name) is a semi-weekly feature that highlights the gorgeous covers of the books on my wish list. With many of these books months away from release, the best way to pass the time is admire their very pretty covers. This week I have to lovely covers:
Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

Cover: I'll start by saying that I'm a big fan of the juxtaposition this cover has going on. On top, it's frumpy, gray, and well...drab. But at the same time, the scene is also eerily spooky. The mist creeping out from the bare trees combined with the black cat really helps strengthen that. Below that, however, is a bright spot of color. I love the lower half of the cover. The colors practically jump of the screen, and I can only imagine what it'll look like when it's printed. The rich green on the sparkling blue is magnificent. Not to mention the girl's new, powerful stance. This cover is an all around win!

Cover: Again, the colors on this cover do wonders. The posing of the three girls is already very interesting looking, but the way that they've varied the colors between them really makes it pop. Also, I like how the girls' eye color really stands out against the different shadings. Colors really can make or break a cover. And with this cover, I think they make it even more striking.
